Joel Duah Afi is a 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow and co-founder of Abusua Community Medical Centre where he serves as the Medical Director. He is a multi-award-winning fellow with significant international experience and a number of awards to his credit including the USADF/Citi Foundation grant recipient award, World Connect and reciprocal exchange award. He has several years of experience in community development and working towards a sustainable and equitable society for all. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery- MBChB, MBA in Strategic Management and Consulting from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Valley View University. He is currently an MPH candidate majoring in Health policy and Management and a resident physician in Family Medicine with the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. Joel enjoys travelling and he is motivated in designing and implementing health interventions in low-resource settings focused on attaining Sustainable Development Goal 3.
